Relaxing with the VC + this “small scale” Ostrich

 
 

When selecting part of an ostrich hide, I’d normally go for sections with as much "large scale” as possible. Reasons being; they are lovely to look at, hard wearing as they're typically thicker, and they're a close resemblance to crocodile scales - a look that most people want even when opting for ostrich hide.

However, what most don’t consider, (including myself!) is how the look of an all "small scale" section of ostrich can really compliment an elegant dress watch such as this VC Patrimony.

The small scales are much thinner so the strap is ultra slim and supple making it perfect for this 7mm thick timepiece. The overall look is also something quite different. Clearly exotic in vibe, but not quite small scale croc, not lizard, but also not your usual looking ostrich strap.

I really love how this has turned out and it has become my new favourite combo for this piece
