Origin
Ten to One is a one-man workshop based in Auckland, New Zealand, where each strap is made to order entirely by hand. This is a practice rooted in traditional craft, focused on precision, balance, and longevity. It’s a slower process, but that’s the point: what you receive is the result of careful, deliberate work rather than mass production.
I’ve been crafting leather watch straps since 2020, working without machines, templates, or pre-made patterns. It began with collecting multiple straps for a single watch, which quickly turned into a simple thought: I’d rather learn how to make them myself.
But why Ten to One?
Because with enough imagination, a great watch can become ten different pieces just by changing the strap.
But the ethos isn’t about owning more. It’s about getting more from what you have.
A well made strap can completely transform your watch by bringing new character, versatility, and life to something you already enjoy. It’s about exploring those possibilities in a thoughtful, intentional way.
This is a practice built on patience, detail, and a genuine obsession with the craft.
