Postwar precision
This custom-dyed Saddle brown kangaroo strap was built for my 1950s Juvenia chronograph. It’s a watch from an era when patience wasn’t optional, and detail wasn’t negotiable.
Inspired by an old Calatrava strap I once saw, but reinterpreted with thicker stitching and a more subtle tone.
Subtle tones don’t come easy because each piece of leather reacts differently to any dilute solution.
In this instance just a few drops of brown were used with water in the dye tray.
Red-green balance, room temperature, dry time, it all matters.
Five days, one soak per day, up to five hours each. And still unpredictable.
This isn’t “off the shelf.”
And that’s what this kind of watch deserves.
A strap crafted with patience.
100% by hand, every step of the way.
