Ice blue ostrich for the Breitling Navitimer B19 Perpetual Calendar

Typically this kind of dial would warrant a custom dye like i’ve done in the past, but this pre-dyed Ice blue ostrich leg was the perfect match already.

Unlike my top grain with gloss coat ostrich leg hides, this hide actually has a nubuck finish to it. The macro shots in particular show off the beauty of the sections between scales much much more.

Combine this with some subtle padding, kangaroo reinforcing, and the final strap is surprisingly substantial, and has a lot more depth and dimension to it.

A big thank you to Sam at Partridge Jewellers for this commission. It’s a real pleasure to make a bespoke piece for such an exquisite watch and to be able to get some final shots of it.
